What to have ready
None of this is required, and we would rather you called without it than not called. It just shortens the conversation.
- Whether it is a house or a business premises
- Whether the equipment is on the roof or beside the house — this one changes the most
- Roughly how old it is, if you know; the data plate carries the year
- What it is doing: not cooling, cooling weakly, cycling on and off, noisy, leaking water, tripping a breaker
- When it started, and whether anything happened first — a hot spell, a power cut, a filter change
What we will tell you straight away
If it is something you can check yourself in two minutes — a breaker, a blocked filter, a thermostat set to the wrong mode, a tripped float switch — we will walk you through it on the phone rather than book a visit. If it belongs to a different trade, we will say which one. And if we cannot get to you quickly enough to be useful, we will say that too rather than let you wait on a maybe.
Not our work
Re-roofing and roof repair, roof structure, crane hire billed as ours, plumbing, water treatment, gas supply beyond the appliance connection, electrical work upstream of the equipment disconnect, asbestos abatement, mould remediation, grease duct cleaning and solar. We will name the right trade rather than attempt it.
